Climate Mitigation from a Bee's Eye View
We create educational bee experiences, and this time we're tackling Climate Change. We just lived through the hottest July on record and our ecosystems are showing signs of distress. There are an immense amount of solutions - many of which we’ll be discussing during this workshop!

Time & Location
Oct 28, 2023, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM EDT
Miami, 1613 NW 54th St, Miami, FL 33142, USA
About the event
Join us at Cerasee Farm, a climate mitigation zone in the heart of Liberty City. We'll be taking some of the concepts we brushed on in September's Growing Rhthyms workshop, but diving deeper. We'll solidify a base understanding of exactly what we mean by climate, climate change, and climate justice, and then talk about the real-time changes we are seeing here in Miami - the ways in which shifting climate patterns affect bees, birds, other pollinators, plants and ecosystems as a whole, and of course how these shifting patterns can affect our own families and neighbors in Miami Dade County. We'll talk about what we mean by a climate mitigation zone, how we can create climate mitigation zones in our own yards, balconies, or local parks, and where the bees play into the mix. After our interactive discussion and time to explore the climate-mitigating elements of Cerasee, we'll put on bee gear and meet the honeybees!
In order to make this workshop accessible to everyone, we offer the following price tiers. Please read below, choose the tier that works best for you, and enter that amount as your ticket price.
*PRICING IS PER PERSON*
HIVE ($60):
This is our solidarity price. It covers the full price of your experience with the bees and fully subsidizes another community member's participation, as well. You should consider this price if you can meet all your needs comfortably and can afford extra. This helps support our ongoing work and community as a whole.
BEE BREAD ($30):
This tier is full price. It pays us fairly, covers costs, and allows us to share some funds with Urban Green Works. You should consider this price if most of your basic needs are met, comfortably.
BEESWAX ($15):
This is a reduced price. It covers your experience with the bees without having to over-stretch your budget. You should consider this tier if you are able to meet your basic needs but do so under some stress.
HONEY ($5):
This tier is a reduced price. It covers your experience with the bees and should be considered if you are under constant stress about meeting your needs, and often are not able to partake in leisurely, self-care activities. We got you!
